About Egor

Egor Doubay is a professional saxophone player based in Belgium. He was originally born in Belarus and moved to Belgium with his parents at a young age. As a son of a professional dancer and musician, Egor soon discovered his interest in jazz music with the guidance of his father. Following this, he quickly became a student at the SAMWD Lier, a prestigious academy for music and dance. Egor later attended the Kunsthumaniora! In the city of Antwerp. He graduated summa cum laude from both schools. Egor also got the opportunity to combine his final years of the humaniora with the musical program at the Conservatory of Antwerp.

Having spent most of his years in Belgium, he found it was time to explore different musical horizons. Egor applied and got accepted to different schools in Europe and finally chose to attend the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where he is still a student.

From an early age Egor has been performing regularly on festivals, jazz clubs, masterclasses, competitions and has established a reputation as a young talented musician. Egor has shared the stage with acknowledged musicians from around the world and got classes with some of the greatest jazz musicians. Some musicians to mention; Aaron Parks, Mark Turner, Dick Oatts, Jesse Van Ruller, Terell Stafford, John Clayton, Wycliffe Gordon, Ferdinand Povel, Jasper Blom, Simon Rigter, Rob van Bavel, Ben van Gelder, Bert Joris, and many more.

Egor is mainly active in the Jazz scene by performing with his own formations and he is working regularly with commercial bands. Egor is also a much demanded session musician.
